Again, longtime no post. I have been furiously working at the national archives with my lil sis who I have hired as a research assistant. We haven't killed each other yet which is a good thing but we have caught beef with security. That's a pretty normal thing with us though. Good times. Now today I'm going to push the format a little bit. Instead of posting the traditional 3 music videos under 1 theme I will upload an album. This will be the first in a series of weekly or bi-weekly installments called "album you should listen to". Like the videos it will either be new music I deem "important" or straight up classics you might have slept on or just don't currently have on your hard drive. Hopefully some of you will download a record once in awhile.
To start us off on this aural journey is possibly the coolest band in hardcore. I think most people will say Trapped Under Ice is current king of the core but they are not the coolest band. That championship belt is worn by non other than Sacramento's TRASH TALK. I posted an interview a while back that proves my point. They play a very fast yet brooding type of hardcore. Listening to their progression as a band I truly believe they are something special and as their sound evolves they might get really big. Shit, Steve Albini produced their self titled album. THE NEXT NIRVANA! I am giving you the E.P entitled PLAGUES that came out in 2008. 6 songs totaling 5 minutes and 15 seconds. I would say the stand out track is MANIFEST DESTINATION. If you don't have it already, cop that shit.
TRASH TALK - PLAGUES (EP)
1. Scatter
2. Babylon, CA
3. Flood
4. Manifest Destination
5. Lepers To Feed The Lepers
6. Kill The Snakes

i'm a person just like you
Loyal readers! I'm sure you have noticed a drop off in posting in the past view weeks. Impatiently waiting for updates to what is surely the most important blog on the internet. Well, school has been destroying my soul and pushing me to the brink of ending it all. I have actually decided to abstain from alcohol and any other inhibiting substances until I am DONE my thesis. Now if you know me in real life you know I can be a pretty serious binge drinker. This is the first time I have gone longer than 6 days of no drink since AT LEAST 2005. I am pretty happy that I haven't gotten cold sweats, shakes and hallucinations from going cold turkey off the granpa juice. Anyways, it's not positive, it sucks, drinking rules. But it proves one thing I do whatever the hell I want to do and I am slave to nothing but my dick. I posted on my facebook that I was straight edge till I was done school and some of my edge friends got all pissed (shout out to real as fuck BLAKE! love you buddy). This post is gonna be all STRAIGHT EDGE.
Let's start with the obvious choice. Before I got into hardcore or even knew that a hardcore scene existed in my city I was down with MINOR THREAT. I was pretty nerdy in high school and I hated jocks and hated everything they did. Drinking and doing drugs was a major reason why I stopped being friends with my elementary crew. I wasn't down with that shit and I was scared of my dad murdering me haha. 2 videos of the song that started it all STRAIGHT EDGE.
Better sound on this one.
Better crowd in this one.
Following up with one of my favorite bands in high school BANE. I was kinda bummed missing them in Ottawa the other day but whatever I just couldn't go. I saw them just a few months ago and there some serious drama which sucked because they didn't play THIS SONG on motherfucking EDGE DAY. SUPERHERO! My number one song during my straight edge till I'm legal phase haha. Whatever that shit probably saved my life so I'm not sweating how cliché and loser it is. This song motivated me so much. Imagine a 250 pound version of me wearing khaki pants that are too short, payless shoes, and a golf shirt barreling down the halls of multi-ethnic hood school hating the fucking world. This was the song on my discman, on motherfucking repeat. The must click video of the day. CRAZY SING ALONG.
And finally probably the best edge song just by how hilariously awesome it is. STRAIGHT EDGE REVENGE by PROJECT X.
BONUS EDGE.
I give you a straight up HARD band The Wrong Side on suggestion of lazeinski. Couldn't find 2 words but whatever.

do i frighten you?
Sup internet friends? Yesterday I was pretty bummed on life (probably S.A.D.). Today I wrote a long letter to my good friend in Saskatchewan and I came to the realization that I need a woman in my life. I have been single since the end of last school year! Friggin almost a year in like late May. I have observed changes in how I run my life single and let me tell you it's no good. A GF keeps me organized and much more accountable for my actions. I have been not giving a fuck these past months and have felt cold nothingness in the part of my soul that is supposed to make me have crushes. Today I have decided to change this because I fear this to be a vicious cycle that will surely end in homelessness or being the manager of a horrible suburban grocery store. I NEED WARMTH! Pretty much I gotta quit being a pussy and try to make moves even if it means certain embarrassment and terrible sadness fueled poetry. The payoff is worth it! Essentially I gotta get my game a lot tighter than where it is right now. Getting down to dating weight, finishing school, having my room be spotless and female ready! Today those things seem almost impossible but tomorrow I will be closer to my goal! Todays videos are sort of related to the trite I just wrote.
Kind of describes the end of the relationship I had for the majority of my university life. I know it's played out but whatever. KATE NASH - FOUNDATIONS.
If my future shorty could at least tolerate this band that would be sweeeeeet. CRO-MAGS - WE GOTTA KNOW
And finally this describes pretty much what I need. Great song that BRIGHTS covered at Halloween, the picture on the top right of this blog is me singing along to this. HA-HA. BLINK 182 - JOSIE.

if you censor this you're a pussy
WARNING GUEST POST SIGNIFICANT CHANCES OF AWESOMNESS.
Yo, you already know who it is. It's ya boy Young Lozi also known as Big Eagle P in some smokier circles. Now I know all you guys are wondering "What the fuck is Big Eagle doing on this shit? I know Big Baby Campbell ain't sittin on this type of loot". Look, I did this shit for free because BBC is a dude I fuck with... a BSC OG, the blackest white dude I know. I'm up in here to help a dude out. This blog is severely lacking in real shit. Consider this post Real Shitology 101. Ain't no fucking "Oh look at me, I can't play an instrument but I do a lot of coke and my faggy circuit-bending hipster boyfriend made me a shitty microphone out of a phone receiver so people won't notice that I sing worse than that bitch on APTN who sings with aboriginal puppets in the morning.". Real shit only. Lets do this.
First off we have Shabazz the Disciple with Crime Saga. An original member of Sunz of Man and probably my favorite Wu-Tang affiliated artist. This little jammy was originally released as a single in '95 and was later featured on his debut full length The Book of Shabazz in 2003. This album is one of the darkest, grimiest, rawest, realest hip hop albums ever released. Fuck you if you disagree.
Up next is Neglect with Good for Nothing. The most depressed band NYHC has ever produced. They did the damn thing from '91 to '95. This video was shot in Germany. Real as fuck. Check it.
Last but not least I need to give a shout out to SMACK DVD. The realest hip hop DVD in the game. This is one of my favorite videos they've featured. It's also Big Baby Campbell's current jammy. Look Nigga You Food by Stack Bundles. SQUAAAAAAAAAAD UP!
BONUS! This one goes out to anyone who doesn't think Redman is real as fuck:

Would you lie would you remember
Not much going on these days apart from me being way pumped for the Habs starting out their season on a good foot. I really have high hopes pour le C-H this year. No ones got history like us, no ones got love like us!
Semi new stuff today.
I'm going to start you off with a FUCKED UP double pack. Fucked Up are one of my favorite hardcore bands today and I have already posted about them. Like I said before they are good at publicity but I truly believe that publicity or whatever is part of true art. Fucked Up really attack every aspect of being a band. Performance, recording, packaging, politics and personality. They used to be cool to like but now they are getting cool to hate. I think that's bullshit. I am normally the first guy to hate on shit but I just can't with them. They are putting out some of the coolest most mental records ever to come out of hardcore. Serious. The Chemistry of Common Life is going to go down as a classic. That being said they are sort of like a folk band in the sense they modify a lot of their songs for live performances. The first clip is the song TWICE BORN recently performed at MTV live canada. Crazy fucking performance. The best part though is my good friend JAYHU (aka jehu butcher of the omrides) is in this video. He's the guy wearing a blue and yellow tshirt with the # 95 on the back he also gets security out of the way so the kids can get into the washroom. I swear this guy is the best ever. One of the only people I can say with 100% certitude will be a lifer veteran in hardcore, shit he ALREADY is a vet.
Second video is from a 12h marathon they did in NYC the other day. Its a cover of BLITZKRIEG BOP with motherfucking MOBY on guitar.
Next we have a double pack of SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO. A band I don't really know that well but Paul G put me on to the other day. The song is HUSTLER pretty much one of the best videos ever. Oddly enough they made a new video for the song that came out his week. It's good but the old one is better due to babes getting all indigo girls like. I'm posting both so you can choose which one is the best. Youth Anthems: fair and balanced.

She's got her own motivation
One meal a day is working amazing not only in terms of me feeling awesome but the hatred it garners. People will trip out about a single meal more than they will about important issues in today's A.I.G.-less world. In my everlasting me against the world mentality I will dedicate this post to punk/hardcore bands with singers that rarely wear shirts and could beat the shit out of me, a very elite club my friends. If these knuckles good talk.
First up let's go classic. BLACK FLAG. People generally love this band more than anything from that era which always perplexed me. I guess it's the logo, the fact they toured like motherfuckers and their sound is less screamy. Another thing I find funny about fans of this band is they always like to make the point that Henry Rollins isn't their favorite Black Flag frontman. Sure he becomes more and more of a parody of himself as the years go on but come on, he's the coolest frontman. Accept this. The song is called TV PARTY and its one of their catchiest. Shout out to Monday Night Football!
Now we go from L.A. to N.Y.C. to one of my favorite HC bands in the entire world. MADBALL. Now they really differ from a lot of NYHC probably because they were born and raised in NYC and didn't just move there. They are way tougher and don't care at all about vegetarianism or straight edge. That being said they are political when it comes to immigration issues in the states as many members are latin american. Their sound is a bit more slowed down as well. I saw them last summer for the second time and when I came out I had blood on my tshirt that wasn't mine. As I was chilling infront of Babylon with Josée Business and Jayhu we saw hoya (the huge latino bass player), I walked to him and gave him a now legendary pound. Check out DOWN BY LAW and see what I'm talking about.
Finally we go to Toronto (yack). I figure I have to showcase this band for those who don't know what I'm talking about when I mention them all the time, FUCKED UP. They are taking hardcore in a really interesting generation. Although I love their collections of singles (epic in minutes) their their 2 most recent releases have been really cool trippy mind fucks and not in a dumb way. I feel like they really "get it". Their singer Pink Eyes aka Father Damian is a king publicity guy which is good. Hardcore shuns marketing too much. Anyways they have no music videos that I know of(which is surprising). On many of their live videos the sound isn't too good but hey what can you do. They are fucking crazy live, I am thinking about going to see them this Halloween in Toronto which would be huge for me (i.e. not going to Halloween hardcore in ottawa). check out BAITING THE PUBLIC!
BONUS!
DIDDY has an online song with T.I's swagger like us beat (but modified). The song is called SWAGGER LIKE PUFF. I must say its kinda cool. Fun to see Puff Daddy back to trying to be a rapper. He's got some pretty good lines in this. The video is another of his ridiculous youtube clips which it makes it oh so much better. Trucks with no doors, wtf. Bad Boy record por la vida.

We can achieve it, we can achieve it
Past few posts have been hip-hop centric and who wants to be a race traitor? (JKING LOLZ), so this post is going to be white to appease all you secret racists. I am watching MTV live right now and they are featuring a video I featured a couple of weeks ago, they should hire my god damned ass. (I am in the process of applying to MTV networks usa for real!)
First band of the day called the THE MUSLIMS kinda like Lifetime in the sense that it's an impossible to google name. But yeah they've been around for awhile I guess and they kinda obviously get compared to The Strokes but with a more rural (hence whiter) c.c.r.ish vibe. The way I see it is that it's gonna be a good for now but easily forgotten. Kinda like The Strokes. I like the video and how the singer just looks like he doesn't give a shit about his band. Gotta love fellow assholes. Song is EXTINCTION.
Next up is a legendary band that is probably the only good thing (barring a few Montréal Canadiens prospects) to ever come out of Minnesota. HUSKER DU. Originally a hardcore punk act on SST (maverick indie label) their sound evolved to be more melodic and they eventually signed to a big label. They influenced a whole gang of poppier indie that came after. Muy blanco. The song is MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL off their final SST album. There's also a cover of the Mary Tyler Moore theme song on this clip.
Next up is motherfuckin COLD WORLD. Pennsylvania HC band that has a little bit of hip hop influence (mainly intro-outros). I really like them and rank them high in terms of current HC acts. They have a new album that I need to listen to ASAP. The song is REFUSE TO LOSE. Pink Eyes from Fucked Up hyped them up on MTV live which I thought was cool.
Bonus...
Echk, I think I'm going to be embarassed for posting this. One band I liked as a very young kid (and still like today) was The Cramps which got me into the whole psychobilly thing. Anyways this band has a shitty name THE CREEPSHOW and they are from Burlington Ontario (which also sucks). Whatever I think the video looks good and it sound a lot like the ambient music from wicked new HBO show True Blood. Ugh I might regret this. Song is called THE GARDEN.

It's not the way I choose to live
No theme. My dad called me a jack daniels of all trades yesterday. I think that was the nicest thing anybody has ever said to me. SPEAKING OF NICE THINGS. My intifada ibroheem Paul G said some real nice things about me on his wicked blog, many thanks!
Ok so I keep hearing about this Brooklyn place. All that Williamsburgh shit, the new L.E.S. whatever whatever. From all the stuff I read about it I just imagine it as being like vancouver's east hastings but with deathly skinny hipsters instead of deathly skinny heroin users. I talk a big game but if ever the opportunity arose I would move there in a second. My bags wouldn't even be unpacked and I would start talking about it like if I had been born there, pure douchestyle. Ok, we have another cell phone commercial song (the source of cocain funds for all indie bands) YEA YEAH by hipster brooklynites MATT AND KIM. They are coming to Ottawa soon and I will be there pretending to not like them, haha.
Next up we have a real played out song PRO NAILS by KID SISTER but she doesn't have any more recent videos so I gotta give you this. Anyways, I missed her when she came to Ottawa which bummed me out bad. I just watched an interview with her and I really think that we could be best of friends/soul mates. Again I say this in the creepiest and most fanboyish way possible. She's was/possibly still is dating DJ A-TRAK who is french canadian. I might have a chance! Her second album was supposed to be called COCO BEWARE (wow!) but now is apparently being called DREAM DATE (meh). I wish I had a machine to make beats.
Now I'm gonna hit you with an old school joint. TOUS LES GARÇONS ET LES FILLES BY FRANÇOISE HARDY. I've posted about her before. I talk about hotness a lot but I truly think Françoise Hardy is the most beautiful woman ever. This song is from 1962. She was 18 when this song came out and she wrote almost everything she sang (including this song). The video is really cool and has that French New Wave feel to it. If you are going to watch only one video today do yourself a favor and don't be bitch, just click it.
BAWNOOSE:
I thought about doing an all GORILLA BISCUITS post but they really have bad classic footage on youtube which is a total bummer. Once for an acting class at university we had to like answer these questions about ourselves. One question was what music resembles you the most. Some assholes said shit like Mozart or "I don't know" when it got to me I was like "yo, the Gorilla Biscuits discography." They are funny yet serious, laid back yet tough and awesome yet fucking awesome. Stagediving at their show was a moment I will remember for the rest of my life. DEGREDATION is the song and racism is fuckin wrong! (two versions!)

Bigger they are they think they have more power
Today's post is dedicated to everybody that "gets it". Friday is a good day but you gotta make everyday a positive day. Tuesdays can be beautiful. Today we talk about one of the greatest human beings alive today. DAN YEMIN. This man is pure truth in the shell of a mortal man. He is in my favorite band ever, my 6th favorite band ever and 2 of my favorite bands touring today. I have met him twice and have been a loser fanboy both times. Both those times though the guy treated me with the most class and respect i have ever encounteredwhile talking to semi big touring HC bands.
Ok let's do this in non chronological order. Go with his work in KID DYNAMITE one of the bands that rose out of the ashes of Lifetime and almost as amazing (which is still better than 99% of bands). My blog is named after this song CHEAP SHOT YOUTH ANTHEM. It's about the importance of all ages shows. So many kids turn 19 and 21 and turn their backs on AA which is fucking ridiculous. If it wasn't for all ages shows I honnestly think I might have never finished high school. This video was made by a random dude on youtube and it makes me think of my psycho scottish cousins that were in town this summer.
Next up we have LIFETIME. Already featured on the blog. Essentially my favorite group of all time. I would kill a man with a swiss army knife if they asked. No joke. Their songs speak so much to me and I have so many memories associated to their music. The perfect combination of aggression and melody. They were together from 1990 to 1997 but they are most remembered for their last 2 albums of this era (HELLO BASTARDS and JERSEYS BEST DANCERS). Both those albums are perfect and you should listen to them A.S.A.P. They reunited in 2005 (i had the opportunity to see them at this time) and came out with a new self titled album. Which believe it or not got a POSITIVE review in pitchfork. To me it's not as good as HB and JBD but it is growing on me like HPV in paris hilton's uterus. Some of the songs on it are on par with their classic shit. They are signed on Fueled by Ramen aka Fallout Boy's label and I think that's alright cause every single mainstream "emo" or pop punk band owes them half their profits. We have a double pack of songs. YOUNG LOUD AND SCOTTY live from a breakup show and AIRPORT MONDAY MORNING the video from their new album. Let it percolate.
Finally we have PAINT IT BLACK with Dan Yemin singing. I like them less than his other bands cause to me he's a genius guitar player. The song is called MEMORIAL DAY it's from a house show, the quality sucks but during the sing along you can really see what I'm talking about when I'm trying to communicate the feeling i get in my heart when I listen to these bands.
BONUS ALERT
Yemin is in another band ARMALITE which features Atom Goren of Atom and his Package and other dudes from bands. They pretty much only play philly but dear lord are they amazing.

life as (looking for) a shorty shouldn't be so rough
Today's theme is love. My love. My love for celebrity musician ladies. Simple hotness is not enough to make the list. It's a conjuncture of beauty, STYLE and my love of their music. The women you will see today are all celebrities that, if I met them, the situation would become ultra awkward due to me actually being in love with them. I would abandon my own children for a simple afternoon of hand holding with these mamasitas.
First up is a young woman who has gotten a lot of attention these past years. You might already know her story about her Sri Lankan origin so I'm not going to bore you with that. M.I.A.'s music is straight up awesome arular and kala are easily in my most listened albums on my ipod. She is also a great visual artist and her badassness is unmatched (she was on a terrorism watch list in the u.s.). She also talks about the world wide ghetto which appeals to my white man's guilt. seriously though her videos reminds of the last city bus to leave my high school aka united nations of hood. My chances of getting with her: medium. due to the fact I have U.K. citizenship and could relocate just for her if need be. The song is her first single GALANG I chose this because its the video that showcases her beautiful face the most. When I saw her live I felt like what I imagine first time heroine use to be like.
In a similar vein we have french electrop pop/rap superstar YELLE. Now she's a special case for me. Her biggest hit and the video I am showcasing JE VEUX TE VOIR is a straight up diss track against a previously featured artist Cuizinier. I think she realizes that her fame is based off of his name though. It's like a hot girl that you will temporarily sacrifice key guy friendships for. But I dunno she's so hot she might just be "the girl who ruined iain"for my friends. Sigh... My chances of getting with her: high she's pretty much my age, we have the same native tongue and we have similar interests and backgrounds. Her style is out of this world and she's so hot that she almost makes me feel ugly :( When I saw her live it was like having little cherubs playing music in my heart.
Finally we have CAT POWER aka Chan Marshall. The odd one out. Not poppy or fun but folky and sad. Her voice is super haunting. At first I didn't like her music that much cause it sort of depressed me too much but as I have grown older and the weight of modern life crushes my soul I have started listening to this on a daily basis. Earlier in the blog's life I said that depressed girls suck me in, well she falls into this category. The song is called LIVED IN BARS which I find to be more upbeat than a lot of her stuff. Like for the other videos today it was chosen for hotness showcase more than me loving the song. chances of me and Chan being together: very low. She's a lot older than me and has other shit to deal with. If it would work out her bummed out state would be a black hole consuming and destroying all my love. THAT BEING SAID when I saw her in concert I swear to fucking god we made eye contact and it was magical. (i totally sounded like BSB fan there.).
BONUS: not françoise hardy because she will be back later BUT some MINOR THREAT! wait what? Check the clip at around 35 seconds a girl comes up and starts singing along. I love you mystery girl, wherever you are! The song is called FILLER and it's amazing.

A dreaded sunny day
No theme today. That's fine though cause there's always the overlying theme of awesomeness that is omnipresent.
First up at bat is one of my favorite hardcore bands of all time, YOUTH OF TODAY. I've been hearing a lot of music snobs hate on either : hardcore in general or specifically anything that isn't part of the first wave of hardcore or the almost unlistenable screamo-ish subgenres (note that I said almost because I listen to some of that as well). These kids used to listen to this but now listen to garage rock influenced punk and drink way too much. I also drink way too much but I don't forget my ROOTS. Ok, so this song is called NO MORE off We're Not in This Alone which came out in the super important hardcore year of 1988. I picked this song because it has a music video for it and that is really rare for HC bands of that era. The song did a lot to get vegan/vegetarian ideals inside of hardcore which is pretty cool. Now mind you, the video is hilariously low budget but the parts with Ray Cappo in the varsity jacket are pretty cool. You can feel the youthful energy and honesty which is rare in a lot of bands we like. Also, HC pioneering fashion styles once again. There are designer varsity jackets that go for ridiculous cash these days when HC bands have been making their own for years. Too much talk not enough rock. do it.
Deuxièmement is MALAJUBE. A Québécois indie group with French lyrics that has actually gotten attention in the English Canadian (and American) media which is very rare. They have also said they won't ever sing in English. Not enough French kids get this. Like in punk or indie the chances of making millions is pretty rare so why bend over backwards to sing in English when doing it French will give you cool kind of niche appeal to the losers over at pitchfork. (ironically coming from a French guy writing his obscure blog in English!) You might recognize this song as it was featured on a rogers wireless commercial... Whatever I'm not going to hate on a brother stacking his paper high. The video is beautifully animated as well. Anyways I love this band and you should to.
In conclusion we have the best rappers alive THE CLIPSE. Every single music critic in the world has the veiniest of bones for these guys and with good reason. These guys are the living incarnation of The Notorious B.I.G. in terms of never ever dropping a line, toughness and pure style. The song I chose is off the upcoming Re-Up Gang album (their larger group featuring Sandman and Ab-liva). Now what's interesting about this song is that it is on a Scott Storch beat as opposed to the constant collaboration with The Neptunes. In their past mixtape there's been a feeling of friction between the longtime buddies. Having a non Neptune beat makes me feel like they might have a broader Top 40 appeal. I say this because they always got the best and therefore weirdest Neptune beats. So I give you the low budget video (by rap standards) for the song FAST LIFE. Take some time to listen to these great lyrics.
No bonus features when there is no theme of the day. Stay gold!

i: there's fuckin beauty in life zach, never forget that. z: word, god.
This post is influenced by some douchebag on a message board bashing my birthplace. The city (or former city) of Vanier a working class/poor and predominately French neighborhood. People bash it a lot and it pisses me off. These asshole kids are far removed from the areas they bash and forget or don't care that people live there, people with stories! My point is that a very significant portion of the world's best art comes from areas like Vanier. Shit, another place that gets a similar bad a rap is the state of NEW JERSEY. We've all heard the jokes. One thing though is that the state of New Jersey alone probably produced more awesome/important music than all of English Canada. Woops.
Now let's start with the most obvious of Jersey's glorious sons. Everybody loves him too no question about it. The beautiful stories he conveys could have very well taken place in Vanier. This is the type of inspiration you just can't get in the Glebe yo! Giving you one of his most popular songs which is ironically about yearning to leave Asbury Park.
Next up we have another one of the most critically acclaimed and universally loved artists of recent times in Lauryn Hill. Although I'm going to put up a Fugees song cause I feel like it. Praz and Wyclef were Haitian immigrants (HAÏTI!) and hooked up with jersey native Hill to create one of the most important hip hop groups of the 90's. One thing I love about this era was that every hip hop video had the artists in a secret agent mission type scenario. Vanier 2 - Westboro 0.
Finally we have what can be considered as my favorite band of all time, Lifetime. A seminal melodic hardcore band who's influence can be heard across a lot today's mainstream music. Not really working class and more crappy suburb influenced but 10000% jersey. This song is called Theme Song for a New Brunswick Basement Show. Much like Springsteen, Lifetime makes an ordinary event happening to ordinary people into an epic story. In this case just sitting down next to a girl at a shitty punk show. I saw them live at a reunion show in 2005 and I wish I had a clip from that show but this is pretty close they are playing the Stone Pony (a legendary Jersey venue). K.O. Vanier wins.
BONUS FEATURE!
And we have a bonus! The dark lords of suburban jersey the danzig era MISFITS! Unfortunately like so many awesome groups they inspired a lot of shit (any band that wears makeup that is not them). Whatever. This is a video from what I believe to be is a Detroit area public access show. Quality sucks but the interview is awesome.

thug motherfuckers with our microphones out
One thing that I want to use this blog for is to talk about music that I really love and some people might not know about yet. Cutting and pasting youtube links will be a huge part of this blog. So let's get this started.
First off we have Françoise Hardy if you don't like her you're fucking stupid. She is one of the most beautiful people to have graced our earth. On top of that she WROTE HER OWN MUSIC which was pretty rare back in 60's pop music. She was signed to a major label before she graduated high school. Most of her lyrics had to do with being sad and I being a guy that likes girls who are depressed makes me dig her times a million. I give you "Mon ami la rose" a song about the fleetingness of beauty and friendship... sigh.
Then we have a low budget video from Cuizinier (the C in the french electro-hiphop juggernauts T.T.C.). It's called "Message perso" it's about getting over girls. Extra points for including expensive street wear, Mario Kart and a PINK KITCHEN. I love Young Cueezy, if you didn't now you do.
And finally EARLY 90'S HAWDCORE. Hardcore is like a mix between everything you loved about fascism (cleanliness, toughness and discipline) and punk (rebellion, partying hard and fucking shit up). Judge might not be my favorite HC group but I thought this video looked good and had a good quantity of stage dives. Stage diving is the funnest thing ever. More exhilarating than having a 100% clean slate on an uncertain S.T.I. test!
